• Alcaravan is an Aerial Application service in Venezuela. They have purchased 5 of our aircraft. They use our aircraft to spray Sugar Cane and Rice.

• Central El Palmar is a large sugar cane company. Alcaravan provides aerial application services to its growers. Central El Palmar has it's own staff of Agricultural Engineers that evaluate the quality and success of our aircraft's work.

• Gomez and Hardy Agricultural Consultants is the consulting firm that evaluated our aircraft for Alcarvan and recommended it to El Palmar.

By means of the present we point out that from February of the 1999 we operated airships VSTOL SST 2000 to apply agricultural pesticides like herbicides, (pre, post emergent and maturing chemistries) insecticide and organisms of biological control in fields of sugar cane and rice.

This airship presents/displays:

•Two motors of two cylinders of make Hirth of 65 HP each one, placed in the later part of the wing.

• A tank of agrochemical of 125 liters.

• A spray boom with 16 rotary sprays, with a system that allows us to control the size of the drop

All the previous one allows us:

• To operate in strips of landing of 300 Mts. of length and 20 mts. of wide.

• To fly to 85 km hour and zones difficult for conventional airships, like for example, with natural and artificial obstacles.

• To apply smaller doses of recommended (which are referred hydraulic sprays) the previous evaluation of the results

• To spray to low volume (5 to 10 liters per hectare), of 15 to 20 hectares per flight, with an average of 30 hectares per hour.

• To apply uniform bands of 17 Mts. wide.

• To apply different covers (Number of drops / cm2) according to the requirements of the agrochemical, as well as drops between 50 and 250 microns.

• To apply formulations in oil, which increase the absorption of the herbicide in the leaves, or of insecticides in the insect, or of the fungicide in the leaves, at a cost smaller than in applications of high volume.

• To diminish the drift towards non-targeted fields, waters and populated zones.

In summary, the operation of VSTOL SST2000 is highly efficient and safe for our company

TO WHO CAN INTEREST

The present is with the purpose of notifying that as of day 12/02/1999, the company entered operation Aerial Aspersions Alcaraván to fulfill the Program of Chemical Maturation and Control of Insects Plagues of the drip jar 98-99; with the putting in service of two ultralight airplanes with the following specifications:

MAKE: VSTOL

MODEL: SST2000 (Twin-engine)

These apparatuses count on an equipment of aspersion of 16 Nozzles marks MICRON, of controlled drop, that can cover a bandwidth of 18 meters.

The speed of application of these equipment is of approximately 80 KPH.

These specifications, together with the maneuverability of the airplane and norm of security in the applications, fulfill to cabalidad with our requirements, doing of the maturation and the control of insect plagues it gives efficient and reliable work.

By means of the present I point out that the airship twin-engine VSTOL SST2000 at the moment operated in Venezuela by Aspersiones Aereas Alcaravan (AAACA) and equipped with rotary nozzles allows the application of pesticides (herbicides pre and post-emergent, maturing agents, insecticide synthetic and biological) at low volume (5 to 10 liters per hectare) in uniform trapezial bands of 17mts. wide, with the coverage recommended for the different pesticides, in efficient and safe form for the crops and the environment.

At the present time tests are being made to apply the formulations of pesticides in oil to improve their penetration through surface of the leaf or the skin of insects.
